Starting with Henry Wallace who advocated to leverage nuclear energy for the common person and to promote world peace, his ideas were adopted by President Dwight D. Eisenhower who made a speech in 1953 called Atoms for Peace. Afterwards, Walt Disney in 1956 would become a vocal proponent for atomic energy, releasing a book and animated TV episode called Our Friend the Atom. He also drafted designs for a future city called the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow or shortened as EPCOT, which would feature its own government, laws and would be self-sustaining, powering the city via nuclear energy. Disney died in 1966, a year prior to the state of Florida's approval of the proposed nuclear power plant at Disney World. However, due to costs, and later on, several nuclear disasters, the concept of EPCOT envisioned by Disney was abandoned and Disney's dream for the future never took shape.
