The New Century Global Center (Chengdu Global Center) is located at No. 1700, North Section of Tianfu Avenue, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It covers an area of about 1,300 mu (approximately 866,667 square meters), with a total construction area of about 1.76 million square meters. It is a multi-functional building integrating entertainment, exhibitions, business, shopping, hotels and so on. It belongs to the jurisdiction of Guixi Street, Chengdu High-tech Zone.
The New Century Global Center was designed by Zaha Hadid and China Shenzhen Architectural Design Institute and invested and constructed by the Exhibition and Tourism Group. The main project was completed in 2012; it officially opened in September 2013. With the overall shape inspired by "flying seagulls and undulating waves", against the backdrop of sunlight and water features, it forms the appearance of a "treasure basin on the water". It is 3 kilometers away from Chengdu South Station, about a 50-minute bus ride from Shuangliu International Airport, and about a 20-minute drive from Chengdu East Railway Station.
The New Century Global Center is reputed as the largest single building in Asia and can accommodate 20 Sydney Opera Houses and 3 Pentagon Buildings.
