According to public reports, Li Chaolin is a well-known street musician who has been performing on Gulangyu Island for over 20 years. The relevant introduction is as follows:
Early Experiences: Li Chaolin was born in a mountain village in Guizhou. When he was 11, his elder brother brought back a guitar during a home visit, sparking his passion for music, and he then started to learn guitar by himself. After starting work, he often played and sang during his spare time. However, his hand suffered three severe injuries, with the most serious one resulting in the amputation of his left ring finger. Refusing to give up his musical dream, he spent two years practicing playing the guitar "backward", using his injured hand to pluck strings, thus overcoming difficulties to continue his musical journey.
Ties with Gulangyu: After learning about Gulangyu Island from a magazine by chance, he was deeply drawn to it and headed to Xiamen alone, carrying only his guitar. At first, he worked during the day and sang in bars until the early morning to save money. Once he had enough, he set foot on Gulangyu, embarking on his career as a street musician. His musical dreams gradually came true there, and he's grateful to the management for allowing him to perform on the island.
