Testing how much quality I can push for a z-buffer 3D video on youtube, and if it's pleasent to watch. And if it even works lol. It is uncut, so settings will sometimes look messed up in SBS, I still wanted to show them. It's challenging to edit a 8k video in post to say the least.
Examples of how to watch this video:
- for deovr.com, use the deovr app in Quest store
- Using the Quest 2 Meta Quest Browser in 4k (might be choppy), which supports 2D SBS to 3D conversion.
- Or with any VR headset using the SteamVR version of virtual desktop, which can also convert 2D SBS to 3D, use half SBS. And if you can, the highest 16:9 resolution you can get (you can get higher desktop resolutions enabling DSR 4.00x in the Nvidia control settings). Alternatively, download and view it with a 3D capable media player.
Specifications of the original file:
- 7680x4320 @ 60 fps (The game rendered 2 times 8k upscaled with DLAA, what you see is 2x 3840x4320. There might be dips in the framerate, but it is fluent watching it on my pc, should be above 30 FPS at least)
- bitrate: 245.000 kBit/s
- x264 recorded with Shadowplay
- size 6.529.461.613 B
