For Our second night in Japan. We are staying in a capsule hotel.Capsule hotels AKA pod hotels, has sleeping pods nestled on the sides of the walls of the hotel floors instead of room. It is highly efficient way to house people. There is a locker area to store your belongings. There is also a common bathroom with multiple stalls and urinals next to a bank of shower rooms. These common use areas are located on a separate floor from the sleeping pods. The sleeping pods, lockers and bathrooms for Male and Female residents are located on separate floors accessible only with exclusive elevators. These elevators can be accessed at the ground floor, supervised by concierge, or the top floor lounge.
Nine Hours or 9h, is a capsule hotel chain that offer clean, quiet, and safe sleeping pods for male and female residents. The Hamamatsucho 9h features a stunning view of the Tokyo Tower when viewed in the top floor lounge at and the roof top terrace.
Unlike the Taito Ryokan, where you are living in the past, 9h is the future. Access to your the elevator and your locker is granted by a simple card adorned with the hotel logo and a QR code.
