"A friend was on his way to help me fix my Jeep. It seemed he would likely arrive late, so I didn't waste the afternoon waiting around and went for a ride & hike. This grouping of boulders was easy to mark due to an area fire making them visible on satellite view. When I arrived they impressed me more than I expected. Since satellite is a flat overhead view with minimal shadows, it can sometimes be hard to judge prominence from the imagery. I explored a few boulder patches before I had to cut the adventure short. My friend arrived earlier than expected, and I headed out to meet him.
Today marks my first use of the external audio recorder and lapel mic. It probably won't pick up ambient sounds as well as the audio recorder would without the lapel mic, but it's much better than the built-in mic on the 360 camera. If I am ever able to build a shock mount for the recorder, I'll use that with a dead cat wind reducer instead. It can pick up ambient nature sounds very well.
This is a 360° video which means you can click and drag around to change the view. Whatever I saw on location, you can also see."
