Experience Birds of Prey up close in Virtual Reality at Eagles Flying - Ireland's Raptor and Research Center, Ballymote, Co Sligo.
Eagles Flying puts on a show twice daily that is open to the public, with highly trained birds of prey. These include eagles, falcons, owls, hawks, kestrels and vultures which fly and land on members of the audience. Highly entertaining, educational, fun and family friendly, this is a unique experience which you can now enjoy in VR.
The Irish Raptor Research Center is a scientifically managed sanctuary established in 1999 as an institution for research on birds of prey and owls. In 2003 parts of the area were opened to the public, the sanctuary is home to about 350 birds and animals representing 75 species.
Twice daily scientists train birds for visitors, and give information about their biology with an interactive bird show.
Before and after the shows you can walk the park lands, view the birds in their aviaries, interact with the animals, and ask questions of the helpful and friendly staff.
They also have a large supervised Petting-Zoo that we will visit later, visitors can get hands-on with guinea-pigs, pigs, rabbits, lambs, goats, donkeys, ferrets, raccoon, a Python, and many more.
