This is the circle dance that opens the "Morioka Sansa Odori" festival, held in the city of Morioka, Iwate Prefecture, in Japan's Tohoku region.
The dancers are members of the renowned "Senboku-Kodaka Sansa Preservation Society." Their costumes evoke the atmosphere of the Edo period for Japanese people.
The Sansa Odori is one of the five major festivals of the Tohoku region and is known to have existed for as long as 240 years.
