Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive: Revolutionizing Immersive Video

Live from SXSW in Texas, we interview the Blackmagic Design team about the groundbreaking launch of the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive, the first commercial camera system built specifically for capturing Apple Immersive Video.

This cutting-edge camera features a fixed, custom stereoscopic 3D lens system with dual 8K image sensors, delivering an impressive 8160 x 7200 resolution per eye with pixel-level synchronization. With 16 stops of dynamic range and the ability to shoot at 90fps in stereoscopic 3D, it allows filmmakers to record stunning cinematic experiences with unmatched realism.

The URSA Cine Immersive comes with 8TB of high-speed network storage, enabling over 2 hours of 8K stereoscopic 3D recording in Blackmagic RAW. Its robust magnesium alloy chassis and lightweight carbon fiber polycarbonate body make it ideal for high-end productions. The camera also includes 12G-SDI output, 10G Ethernet, USB-C, XLR audio, and a dual 5” HDR touchscreen for intuitive controls.

In addition, Blackmagic Design has announced a new version of DaVinci Resolve, designed to edit Apple Immersive Video seamlessly. The software introduces an immersive video viewer, allowing editors to pan, tilt, and roll clips in real-time, while also supporting native Apple Vision Pro monitoring.
