Step into the magical village of El Rocío! Join us on a captivating journey from the breathtaking Mirador de la Marisma, through its unique sandy streets, to the heart of its spiritual life and the stunning Doñana wetlands. Our adventure begins at the Mirador de la Marisma (Marsh Viewpoint). From this elevated spot, the panoramic view is simply spectacular. Feel the fresh air as we gaze upon the vast wetlands stretching to the horizon, where the intense blue sky often mirrors in the waters below. It's the perfect place to get a first taste of El Rocío's magic and feel a deep connection with the surrounding Doñana National Park. From here, we descend gently, our feet sinking slightly into the fine, golden sand that covers every street in the village – no asphalt here, just this natural carpet that transports you to another time. We walk towards the iconic Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Rocío (Shrine of Our Lady of El Rocío). As we approach, its imposing white façade, with its characteristic belfry and twin towers, grows larger, dominating the landscape. This is the spiritual heart of the village and for thousands of pilgrims, a place of palpable faith, even on a quiet day.

We decide to circle the shrine, taking the path to its left onto Calle Moguer. This sandy street is flanked by the distinctive whitewashed brotherhood houses (casas de hermandades).
