This 8K VR180 documentary is part of the Within Reach portrait series. You sit face-to-face with dance teacher Zhang Zhongqin, who teaches Chinese dance and folk dance to young children, and hear how dance slowly shaped her from a sensitive, introverted girl into who she is today.

From being drawn to opera programs as a child, to secretly dancing in her school dorm, to later stepping into the classroom and guiding children through movement, rhythm, and confidence, dance has remained the force that shaped her life. She says dance is “like a blade” — cutting away insecurity and hesitation, while bringing confidence, strength, and love. As she says, “I really love dancing” and “I’ll keep dancing until I’m old,” you begin to feel that what moves us is not that she explains life so deeply, but that she lives her passion as if it were simple common sense.
