The number of registered cars in Cambodia reached some 920,000 and while that of motorcycles at about 5.2 million, said Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport during the inauguration ceremony of the National Road 11.
Since 1998, the number of cars has increased from 65,000 to 920,000 and the number of motorcycles jumped from 200,000 to 5.2 million, he added.
“This growth is thanks to peace that has allowed the government and people to restore and rebuild the nation and advance firmly with development and growth in all sectors,” H.E. Senior Minister underlined.
According to a report of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the number of new registered vehicles in 2020 was in total 640,183, consisting of 15,956 heavy trucks, 92,958 cars and 531,269 motorbikes. Chea Vannak – AKP
