Riding from Seoul to Busan by national road is one of the most rewarding overland journeys in South Korea — a route that reveals the country beyond its cities.

Leaving Seoul’s skyline behind, the road gradually unfolds into riverside valleys, mountain passes, quiet villages, and endless countryside. Unlike the high-speed expressways, the national roads invite riders to experience the rhythm of the landscape.

The journey spans roughly 400 kilometers, connecting the capital in the north to the coastal energy of Busan in the south. Along the way, the scenery shifts dramatically — from urban districts to farmland, forested hills, and eventually the open horizon of the sea.

Small roadside restaurants, traditional markets, and rural towns provide natural rest stops that turn the ride into a cultural exploration as much as a physical journey.

For riders, this route is more than transportation. It is a moving perspective of Korea itself — where each kilometer reveals another layer of the country’s geography, culture, and everyday life.

When the road finally reaches Busan, the reward is unmistakable: the smell of the ocean, the sound of waves, and the sense of having crossed an entire nation under your own throttle.
