Baodai Bridge, located about 3 km southeast of Suzhou’s old city, spans the junction of the Grand Canal and Dantai Lake. Built in 816 AD during the Tang Dynasty, it was named after the Suzhou governor Wang Zhongshu, who famously donated his jeweled belt to fund its construction. The bridge stretches 317 meters, with 53 elegant stone arches forming a flowing jade belt across the water. Rebuilt and preserved through centuries, it stands today as the longest multi-arch stone bridge in China. Walking across the bridge, one can almost hear the echoes of camel bells and canal barges from a thousand years ago. With VR immersion, you will witness the grandeur of this architectural masterpiece and uncover the living history of Suzhou and the Grand Canal.
