The Silk Road Runway 2025-2026 transformed the historic streets of Tagajo, Miyagi, into a spectacular outdoor fashion stage. Set in front of the reconstructed South Gate of the ancient Tagajo Ruins, models walked a runway inspired by the legendary Silk Road.

This unique cultural event blends history, fashion, and community participation, featuring colorful costumes, student designers from the Tohoku region, and performances by local participants. The show celebrates Tagajo’s historical connection to international cultural exchange while presenting a modern vision of fashion.

With the concept of “From the Silk Road to the World,” the runway symbolically passes through the ancient gate and steps toward the future—showcasing Tagajo as a new cultural hub in northeastern Japan.

If you enjoy fashion events, Japanese cultural festivals, and unique historical locations, this rare runway show at one of Japan’s major historic sites is a must-see experience.
