Hidden within the Yangshupu Power Plant Ruins Park along Yangpu Binjiang in Shanghai lies a romantic nook where time slows down — the One Foot Garden.
This unique café was once a water purification tank of the Yangshupu Power Plant. As time passed, it has retained its original architectural structure, presenting itself as a small, round-house-style building with geometric lines outlining a unique beauty. A pool surrounding the building is cleverly connected to the petal-shaped dome canopy. When a gentle breeze blows, ripples spread across the water, and light and shadow dance between the dome and the water surface, like a vivid painting. When sunlight filters through the dome and casts light spots on the table, time seems to stand still, making people forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
