Pipiwai Trail VR180 Hike | Bamboo Forest & 400-ft Waimoku Falls, Maui in 3D

We missed the sunrise by two minutes, but East Maui more than made up for it. Join us on a full day in Hana, filmed in VR180 3D so you can feel like you're walking right beside us.

We start on the black sand beach in front of Hana-Kai Maui, formed when lava met the Pacific Ocean, then head down the Hana Highway, stopping for a rainbow at Wailua Falls and the hidden Paihi Falls. From the Kipahulu District of Haleakalā National Park, we hike the famous Pipiwai Trail: past a giant banyan tree as big as a house, the 200-foot Makahiku Falls, and through a towering bamboo forest where the stalks knock together in the wind like natural ASMR. Our reward at the end is the breathtaking 400-foot (122 m) Waimoku Falls. On the way home, we stop at a local honor-system fruit stand for some baby bananas.
