The Castle Is Watching — a Halloween night in stereo VR180, with sound that comes from everywhere. Wear headphones. Turn your head.

You drift in over black water toward a castle on a crag, and the castle speaks to you; its voice rolls back off the stone, louder as you come, until you stand on the old pavement between two great heads. Rain. Fog along the ground. Jack-o'-lanterns catch fire in waves. Stone figures stand with their backs to you, each lit from below, a lamp that goes out, turns red, swings away. Every time you look away, they have turned a little more.

The great clock on the tower keeps time toward midnight. Rockets thump up out of their mortars on both sides of the castle and out in the swamp, some whistling as they climb, and burst low over the roofline; each boom reaches you a moment after the light, and rolls back off the crag. At midnight the bell strikes twelve, and on every stroke a huge shell goes up. By the twelfth, everything in the field is facing you.
