Imqabba Carved in Stone, Written with Fire

At the heart of Mqabba stands the Parish Church of the Assumption, a symbol of resilience that survived the destruction of the Second World War and remains the centre of the village’s two great Marian celebrations — Santa Marija and Our Lady of the Lily, Madonna tal-Ġilju.
The experience also explores Mqabba’s long tradition of craftsmanship and pyrotechnics, where generations of local volunteers have transformed fireworks into an art form, producing spectacular aerial displays and traditional Maltese ground fireworks.
