Scotland's Entire Coastline From A Drone's Eye View – Season 2, Episode 2

Join me as I continue my complete aerial journey around the coastline of Scotland in stunning 4K.

In this episode, we fly from Dhoon Beach towards Ross in Dumfries and Galloway, passing one of Scotland's most intriguing coastal landmarks—the haunting remains of The Monreith, a wooden schooner that has rested in the sands of Dhoon Bay for well over a century.

Built in 1880, the Monreith was carrying granite from County Down to Silloth when she was caught in a fierce storm on 12 November 1900. Seeking shelter in Kirkcudbright Bay, she became stranded as the tide ebbed. Thankfully, every member of the crew survived, leaving only the ship to become a permanent part of Scotland's coastline.

Today, at low tide, the skeletal remains of the Monreith emerge from the sand, offering a fascinating glimpse into Scotland's maritime history before the journey continues along this beautiful stretch of the Solway coast.

If you enjoy peaceful cinematic drone flights, Scottish history and discovering hidden corners of Scotland, I'd love to have you along for the rest of the journey.
