360° Journey: Arctic Ocean to Coldfoot Camp via Dalton Highway
Embark on a breathtaking 360-degree journey from the icy shores of the Arctic Ocean in Deadhorse, down the Dalton Highway, to the rugged wilderness of Coldfoot Camp. This video is the first in a series capturing the raw beauty of Alaska's landscapes through a collection of short, stationary 360-degree videos. Each stop along this iconic route has been carefully selected to bring you the most immersive experience of traversing one of the most remote and challenging roads in America.
The Dalton Highway, stretching 414 miles from Deadhorse to Fairbanks, is a lifeline through the Alaskan wilderness, providing access to the North Slope oil fields and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. Constructed in 1974, this highway is not just a route but a journey through history, offering a glimpse into the harsh yet majestic Arctic environment and the indomitable spirit of those who built and travel this road.
In this video, we start at the edge of the Arctic Ocean, where the vast ice meets the horizon, before moving inland to marvel at the engineering feat that is the Alaskan Pipeline. We make a spontaneous stop in the North Slope Borough to capture the untouched beauty of Alaska's wilderness, then ascend the challenging slopes of Atigun Pass, and finally, descend to the southern side to reach the welcoming outpost of Coldfoot Camp.
