The Ransomed Bell & the Monkey Grove — 360° VR guided tour 27/1000 · Toruń, Poland · captions
Tour 27 of 1000 — a growing series of 360° guided drone tours with open captions.
▶ A guided 360° flight with a guide naming what you fly past. The whole series in order: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPedHeX4WkvkZlvB9cSsp0Q
Why did Swedish troops leave this bell behind? In 1703 they tried to carry off the Tuba Dei, the great bell of Johanniskirche, and gave up only after the city paid them a ransom. The Tuba Dei is a giant: its steel clapper alone weighs 200 kilograms or so. Huge brick church beyond the rooftops. After 1236, when the town moved to its present site, work probably began on Zamek Krzyżacki, the first brick stronghold in the Chełmno Land. …
— the guide keeps talking in the film —
For deaf and hard of hearing viewers: everything the guide says is also written on screen, on three sides of the horizon, so the text is in front of you whichever way you turn. The words are spoken aloud too, so the film works either way.
