Batumi To Mestia: A Drive Into The Caucasus Mountains
Second episode of the series I called ""Georgia Uncovered: A Journey Through Remote Beauty".
Finally I've been diving deeper into Georgian landscape - I drove past towering mountains whose sides were carpeted in forestland, through vertigo-inducing gorges, past jagged slate cliffs, but before that - I experience post-Soviet landscapes, the Enguri Dam, the highlight of the region - a vast hydroelectric dam that harnesses the forces of the Enguri, Georgia’s fastest river and - drifting along in herds or lying blissfully on the asphalt - cows - the hallmark of Georgian reality.
