Storytellers Collection: Ode to the Fens | A VR Poem about the Lincolnshire Fenlands

Storytellers Collection: Ode to the Fens is a 7-minute VR poem that pairs evocative spoken word with immersive seasonal imagery and atmospheric music to explore the rhythms of life in the Fenlands.
Guided by the voices of a local family preparing for the winter feast, the film becomes an intimate portrait of memory, landscape and tradition.

Originally co-created by MBD and East Lindsey artists during the 2024 Spalding residency as part of Infinite Museum Year 1, the work has been adapted into a 360° video as part of Year 2 activity. This allows audiences to experience it outside the VR lift environment.

Infinite Museum is a multi-person Virtual Reality experience centred around a time-travelling lift. Developed in collaboration with East Lindsey NPO, Storytellers, the project combines community co-designed content with MBD’s own creative productions. Its modular design allows the Infinite Museum to grow over time, with each new floor adding narrative depth and educational value.
