Today I’m visiting one of Georgia’s most important historical landmarks — Jvari Monastery, overlooking the ancient town of Mtskheta. 🇬🇪

Built more than 1,400 years ago, Jvari stands on a hill connected with the early spread of Christianity in Georgia. From here, you can see the historic Mtskheta and the spectacular meeting point of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers.

Inside the monastery, I’ll show you its ancient architecture and the remarkable Ascension of the Cross bas-relief, carved more than a thousand years ago.
