The Grand Balcon Sud traverses the Aiguilles Rouges side of the valley between Planpraz and La Flégère, both reached by lift from Chamonix — about 3.4 miles and 1,135 feet of climbing, rated moderate. What makes it worth filming in 360° is the geometry: the trail runs level while the entire Mont Blanc massif stands across the valley from you. Aiguille du Midi, Les Drus, the Mer de Glace, the Bossons glacier — all of it face-on, all of it behind you as you walk. A flat camera has to choose. This one doesn't.
