Tamasudare-fall , the waterfall boasting the greatest drop in Yamagata Prefecture , JAPAN

Tamasudare Falls is located on the southern side of Mt. Chokai in Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture.
It is a vertical waterfall that plunges powerfully from a cliff 63 meters high and 5 meters wide.
It boasts the greatest height of any waterfall in Yamagata Prefecture.
It is a waterfall with a storied history, said to have been discovered and named about 1,200 years ago by Kobo Daishi (Kukai) following a divine revelation.
The Ontake Shrine is enshrined in front of the waterfall, surrounded by giant trees.

山形県内一の高さを誇る「玉簾の滝」（たますだれのたき）
「玉簾の滝」（たますだれのたき）は、鳥海山の南側、山形県酒田市にある落差63メートル、幅5メートルの断崖から垂直に激しく流れる直瀑です。山形県内一の高さを誇る滝です。約1200年前に弘法大師（空海）が神のお告げによって発見し、命名したと伝えられる由緒ある滝です。滝の前には「御嶽神社」が祀られ、周囲は巨木に囲まれた厳かな雰囲はパワースポットとして人気です。
