The "House of Colors" project is creating a temporary space for art, culture, and urban work at Nicolaistraße 18 and 20 in Dresden (Germany). The vacant buildings have been made available for interim use by WG Aufbau Dresden eG until their scheduled demolition at the end of the year.
House of Colors serves as an experimental space for artists. Its goal is to foster participation, test new formats, and create low-threshold access to cultural production. An open call was held, inviting interested individuals to contribute their ideas for the space's design and use.
The spring focuses on setup, the collaborative preparation of the premises, and the realization of various exhibition areas and creative projects. From summer through autumn, House of Colors is set to open to the general public and the local creative community, featuring exhibitions, workspaces, events, and collaborative formats.
The project embodies the concepts of temporary use, community engagement, and the activation of vacant space as a cultural resource within the urban landscape.
