Drivers encountered silent men beside empty roads. And over the dark water, a ship’s bell was said to ring where no vessel could be seen.
For nine years, the wreck remained on the riverbed.
Only after it was raised and recovered crew members were laid to rest at Brockeswalde Cemetery did the apparitions finally cease.
