Stop: 3 Colvin Mtn near Hokes Bluff
This stop showcases the Colvin Mountain Sandstone, a Paleozoic (Ordovician?) sandstone derived from continental sediment sources. The stratigraphy here is unique to the Helena thrust sheet and does not easily correlate to the thrust sheets to the northwest and southeast.
