Bunkyo Azalea Festival | Nezu Shrine 2024 - Tokyo Japan Trip【根津神社 つつじまつり 2024】

Nezu Shrine is one of the oldest shrine in Tokyo, which its site was considerably founded over 1900 years ago. The festival is set on the site of the shrine, the 6600 square metres Azalea Garden. The garden is famous for its beautiful pond and Senbon Torii (tunnel of lined-up torii gates).

The festival displays over 100 kinds of 3,000 azalea plants, well trimmed in shapes and blooming in different colours along magnificent vermilion torii gates. The Azalea Festival kicks offs shortly after the cherry blossom season ends in early April. During the festival, there will be small stalls serving food and drinks and a small market selling pot plants and other items.

It depends on the weather condition every year but usually the best time to see Azalea flowers is from mid to end April.
