From Abano Pass to Girevi – Georgia’s Most Remote Road in the Heart of Tusheti.
🎥 Descent from Abano Pass – From Fog and Hailstorm to a Smooth Ride | Omalo, Girevi & the Wild Caucasus!
In this episode, I take you down from Abano Pass (2826 m a.s.l.), but this time in completely different conditions than 9 years ago. Back in 2015, I faced extreme weather—dense fog, heavy rain, and hail, making every turn a potential disaster. This year? A smooth and uneventful descent… well, almost.
🛞 Before entering Omalo… I end up in a ditch!
No adventure is complete without a little misfortune. Luckily, Cocovintageoverland come to my rescue. A bit of teamwork, some dust, a few laughs—and we’re back on the road. Shortly after, we part ways, each heading toward new experiences.
🏔 From there, I venture deeper into Tusheti alone
Driving through Dartlo and Parsma, passing ancient stone towers and shepherds on horseback, I finally reach Girevi—the last settlement before the vast, untamed wilderness of the Caucasus.
🌿 Raw nature, rugged landscapes, pure silence, and… no barriers
This episode is a journey through some of Georgia’s most remote, untouched, and untamed landscapes.
📺 Hit play, sit back, and immerse yourself in the wild beauty of Tusheti!
