Get sharp, crosstalk-free 3D photographs of miniatures by using nothing but a cell phone camera. This tutorial covers the interpupillary distance (IPD) reduction technique for producing stereo pictures optimized for Meta Quest viewing.
Standard 3D cameras are built around a 54-to-74-millimeter lens separation — the right distance for normal subjects, but far too wide for small objects. Pointing a QooCam EGO at a miniature produces severe ghosting that even QooCam Studio cannot fix. By shifting the cell phone just a few millimeters between shots, you replicate the natural eye convergence that occurs when focusing on small objects — producing clean stereo pairs with minimal to no crosstalk.
