Conwy is a walled market town in North Wales. It lies on the west bank of the River Conwy estuary and is renowned for its exceptionally well-preserved medieval architecture, most notably Conwy Castle and its surrounding town walls, both built by King Edward I between 1283 and 1289 as part of his conquest of Wales (Ring of Iron)
