Hakodate Park, located at the foot of Mount Hakodate, was created by citizens in the early Meiji period. In spring, approximately 420 cherry trees, including someiyoshino and yaezakura (double-flowered cherry trees), bloom, making Hakodate Park a popular cherry blossom viewing spot with many visitors. The retro mini amusement park "Kodomo no Kuni" for children, animal facilities, and museums are also popular among people of all ages.
