[8K VR180] Exploring a Historic Japanese Winery – Ushiku Chateau

Explore a historic Japanese winery in immersive 8K VR180.

Ushiku Chateau, located in Ibaraki, Japan, was founded by Japanese entrepreneur Denbei Kamiya and opened in 1903.

It became Japan’s first full-scale winery to handle the entire winemaking process, from growing grapes to winemaking and bottling, using techniques introduced from Bordeaux, France.

In this VR180 tour, we explore the historic winery buildings, the Kamiya Denbei Memorial Museum, old winemaking equipment, and huge wooden wine vats.

We also head underground into the old wine cellar.
It is very dark and atmospheric down there, and exploring it alone was actually a little scary.

Who knows... maybe the camera caught something I didn’t notice...? 👻

After leaving the cellar, we visit the Ushiku City Japan Heritage Visitor Center and finish the tour at the Ushiku Chateau Shop.

The beautiful Western-style buildings of Ushiku Chateau have also been used as filming locations for Japanese movies and TV dramas and have appeared in anime.
