Now I look towards the main avenue. The palace is shrouded in a white veil and can only be guessed at. Looking down the main avenue, I walk along this corridor into what appears to be nothingness. Slowly, the fog lifts. The main avenue between Sanssouci Palace and the New Palace is a mystical passageway, bathed in an opaque, milky light from which the tall trees rise majestically and eerily. The further I walk towards the New Palace, the more the fog clears and the sun's rays increasingly dispel this optical mysticism.
