The Former Residence of Pu Songling, the King of World Short Stories

Mr. Pu Songling, known as "the King of World Short Stories," was born in Pujiacun Village, Hongshan Town, Zichuan District, Zibo City, Shandong Province, where his former residence is located. Throughout his life, he devoted himself to literary creation. His most famous work is *Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio* (*Liaozhai Zhiyi*), a classic collection of supernatural short stories. Renowned for its rich imagination, vivid descriptions, and profound social critique, the book portrays a wide range of fantastical beings such as ghosts, fox spirits, and other supernatural creatures interwoven with human affairs. It is considered one of the most influential short story collections in the history of Chinese literature and has had a far-reaching impact on both Chinese and world literature.
