Arc de la Défense, Paris, France
5km straight line to the north-west of the Arc the Triomphe is the Arc de la Défense. It was completed in 1989, stands 110 metres tall and wide and looks like a hollowed out cube. It is the western end point of Paris’s historical axis that extends from the Louvre through the Arc de Triomphe to the Arc de la Défense. You can just about make out the arc the Triomphe in the distance
