Federal officers were commissioned to investigate normal activities on canal street, known for its various street vendors. People expect to see them and today ICE was there to take people and ask for documents just from suspicion. IT doesn't sit well for regular New Yorkers who protested on the scene and it was confrontational in person but in the larger scene it wasn't a huge commotion, just a tense scene.
