Ribatejo (1938) - Frederico de Freitas (1902-1980)
"Ribatejo" is a small tone poem by the portuguese composer Frederico de Freitas. Writen in 1938 it depicts life as festivities in the rural area of Portugal called Ribatejo (roughly in the Northeast of Lisbon). It was mainly an agricultural and animal farms area with a strong tradition related to Bullfighting.
The recording is by the University of Coimbra Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andre Granjo in a concert on the 1st of March 2022.
