Our first day in Shanghai began at the Grand Central Hotel, a blend of modern comfort and quiet elegance — marble floors, golden railings, and a soaring atrium glowing with warm light. From there, we visited Fine Crafts of Suzhou, a museum dedicated to the delicate artistry of Suzhou craftsmanship — from silk embroidery and jade carving to intricate lacquer work, each piece telling a story of patience and precision.

Afterward, we hopped on a local bus and headed to Wang Jia Sha, one of Shanghai’s famous restaurant, for a comforting dinner of fried rice and vegetables. As evening approached, we strolled along Nanjing Road, passing cafés, glowing shop windows, and the soft blue lights along the boulevard.

Landmarks like the People’s Grand Theater, Canton Cuisine Hall, and a qipao boutique with its pink dragon display reflected the city’s signature blend of East and West — history and glamour intertwined. We ended our walk beneath the night lights of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, the city alive in every direction.
