Look around as we fly above the Meuse Boulevard, the ferry crossing, the waterfront, the historic village center, the Church of Our Lady’s Nativity, and the impressive De Keverberg Castle.
Kessel is part of the municipality of Peel en Maas and developed at an important crossing point for historic trade routes over land and along the River Meuse.
De Keverberg Castle rises above the village and is considered one of the oldest castles in the Netherlands. Its origins date back to around the year 1000, when this strategic location was used to monitor river traffic and collect tolls.
The Church of Our Lady’s Nativity was designed by renowned Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers. The neo-Gothic church was completed in 1872, heavily damaged during World War II, and later rebuilt.
Today, Kessel’s riverside boulevard is a popular place for walking, cycling, relaxing, and enjoying the beautiful views across the Meuse.
Put on your VR headset, look around freely, and enjoy this immersive journey above one of Limburg’s most beautiful riverside villages.
