Komyoin
The main garden, "Hashin-tei," also known as the "Rainbow Moss Temple," showcases a magnificent harmony of moss and sand. This dry landscape garden was created by the Showa-era landscape architect Shigemori Mirei and was built in 1939 along with the Tofuku-ji Hojo Garden.
The Hashin-tei, a Heian-style sandbank garden with a different character from the Hojo Garden, is named after the temple's name, Komyoin. It features a three-stone arrangement floating on white sand representing the ocean, with standing stones arranged diagonally from this base.
