Following the dramatic Tuba Mirum, Mors Stupebit introduces the bass soloist as the music reflects on the moment when death itself stands in awe before the Final Judgment. Verdi transforms overwhelming power into solemn reflection through expressive orchestral writing and profound vocal drama.
