~1860s, Little Falls Aqueduct to Erie Canal

Historic 3D image adapted for VR. I believe this view is looking down the Little Falls Aqueduct toward where it connected to the canal, just past the further bridge with the X shapes. You are looking toward where the aqueduct provided a water connection crossing over the Mohawk river. While it does not depict the nearer bridge more prominent in this image, I believe the further bridge with the X shapes is drawn on the 1862 Map of Little Falls at the Library of Congress. If you could walk into the image along the towpath of the aqueduct ahead of you, and look to your right, you would see another bridge nearby. That would be the Ann St bridge, where the modern Canal St bridge is. Likewise, if you are on the modern Canal St bridge, this Aqueduct would have been just a little to the East. Bear in mind that the Erie Canal that it connected to was smaller, lower, and had more locks than the modern one (including one just to the east of where it connected).
