Zigong in Sichuan is known as the "City of Chinese Lanterns". With a history dating back to the Tang Dynasty, its lanterns combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, creating a stunning blend of light, shadow, sound and color.

Each lantern is a work of art, made through 17 complex processes. In 2008, the Zigong Lantern Festival was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage.
