The Atomic Bomb Dome, located in Hiroshima City, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of the devastation caused by the atomic bomb dropped on August 6, 1945. Originally used as the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall, the building was just 160 meters from the hypocenter of the explosion. Despite the intense blast, the steel framework of the dome miraculously remained standing. After the war, it was decided to preserve the structure as a symbol of peace, and in 1996, it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

原爆ドームは、広島市に位置する世界文化遺産で、1945年8月6日に投下された原子爆弾の被害を象徴する建造物です。かつて「広島県産業奨励館」として利用されていましたが、爆心地から約160メートルの地点で被爆し、鉄骨構造のドーム部分が奇跡的に焼け残りました。戦後、平和への願いを込めて保存が決定され、1996年にユネスコの世界文化遺産に登録されました。

The Atomic Bomb Dome is situated within Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, alongside the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and other monuments.
