This new version of the film was created primarily to test an experimental stabilization system based on two or more motion trackers. The footage was recorded with the SLAM Xcam, a camera without built-in image stabilization, making it a demanding real-world test for the new tool.

🛠️ Stabilized using a newly developed multi-tracker spherical stabilization node for DaVinci Resolve.

The node analyses the movement of multiple tracked points and uses them to stabilize spherical VR footage directly inside DaVinci Resolve.

During the journey, you will:

⛪ Visit the magnificent St. Mary’s Basilica and climb its 82-metre tower for panoramic views over the city.

🧡 Walk along Mariacka Street, the historic centre of Gdańsk’s Baltic amber trade.

⚓ See the medieval Gdańsk Crane, once one of Europe’s largest port cranes powered entirely by human strength.

🎥 Filmed in VR180 stereoscopic 3D with the SLAM Xcam.

This is both a journey through more than a thousand years of Gdańsk’s history and a practical test of a new workflow for stabilizing unstabilized stereoscopic VR footage.
