Touring Liantang Ancient Town: A quieter side of Shanghai’s water towns | 4K 360° Insta360 One X4
Located in Shanghai’s Qingpu District, Liantang Ancient Town (练塘古镇) offers a quieter and more authentic alternative to the region’s better-known water towns. Unlike the bustling Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, Liantang preserves a slower pace of life, where canals, stone bridges, traditional streets, and local residents remain at the heart of the experience.
Far from Shanghai’s modern skyline, the town reflects centuries of history shaped by water, commerce, and community. Daily life continues along its waterways, with small shops, narrow lanes, and friendly interactions creating an atmosphere that feels both genuine and welcoming.
Less commercialized than many tourist destinations, Liantang provides a glimpse into the everyday character of smaller Chinese communities, where local traditions endure and simple moments become the highlight of a visit.
This immersive 4K 360° footage was recorded with an Insta360 One X4 using an Invisible Selfie Stick, allowing unobstructed views of the town’s canals, streets, and daily life.
